Collisions are extremely stressful, but if you can keep a level head, you can avoid a lot of future stress. It sounds counter intuitive, but the first thing to do in any stress-laden situation is to stay calm.
Often, in situations like automotive collisions, being calm seems like the last thing you can do. However, hardly anybody ever made a good decision in a state of panic, and future you will be glad you kept calm under pressure.
Under stress, you or another person may feel the need to assume fault, do not do this. Your insurance companies have methods for determining fault.
