Toronto, Ontario — Équité Association has unveiled its annual “Top 10 Most Stolen Vehicles in Canada” for 2023 and as noted by the study, after two consecutive years in the top spot, the Toyota Highlander has replaced the Honda CR-V as the country’s most stolen vehicle.
Specifically, the Toyota Highlander saw 3,414 thefts in 2023, marking a theft rate frequency of 2.76 percent.
Following the Toyota Highlander, the Dodge Ram 1500 Series came in as the second most stolen vehicle, seeing 3,078 thefts in Canada in 2023.
In third place, the Lexus RX Series saw 3,037 thefts.
Between 2021 and 2023, auto theft increased 48.2 percent in Ontario, 57.9 percent in Quebec, 34 percent in Atlantic Canada and 5.5 percent in Alberta.
